What is the Geotechnical Report?
The Preliminary Geotechnical report is a written report summarizing the results and interpretation of subsurface borings and laboratory analysis related to the design of the foundation system and the grading requirements for construction. The purpose of the report is to ensure that the soil conditions and geology are conducive to the construction of the intended structure. It will also identify conditions that would limit construction types due to soil conditions. The report is based on information obtained from subsurface borings or excavations placed within the proposed building area. A comprehensive site description is part of the report describing the site conditions when the investigation was conducted.
